This year's litter are getting big!

I was cleaning out the babies yesterday, and decided that they were big enough to move off paper towels and onto a granular substrate. I use a soil mix that is free of fertilizers and random detritus, as well as some sphagnum moss for added moisture retention.

Despite being semi-arboreal, pink tongues love to burrow! Although I keep the baby tanks relatively basic, I do like to add enrichment items like branches to climb, plants, humid hides, etc.

The babies seemed to love the new substrate! They were very active for about 20 minutes; exploring every nook and cranny of their enclosure.

I also took this opportunity to get some new weights on these guys. The smaller bubs are rapidly catching up on their larger siblings! The smaller skinks were all around 16g, while the others were 19g. They get so big so fast!!

Smaller bub at 16g

Larger bub at 19g!

I'm thrilled by how well these babies are thriving! Remember to get in touch if you would like to add one of them to your family. :)
